R&D Manager Scientific Development at 2 Bridge

Describe your job in less 50 words:

As an R&D Manager Scientific Development, I am involved in scientific development projects (managing discovery and preclinical research projects, communicating with clients and their designees, thereby ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines). In addition, I also provide business proposal writing support.

What do you like most about your job?

I absolutely love the variability of the projects. Every project is different in terms of its medical indication, and therefore, also requires an adaptive approach. On top of that, I really missed the ‘social’ interaction during my PhD (in which you mainly manage your own project and perform your own experiments) and was looking for a job that allowed me to interact more with other people.

What did you want to be when you were at school?

When I was a kid, I was dreaming of becoming a medical doctor.

How could i do your job? I would be able to:

I did my BSc studies in Biomedical Sciences at Hasselt University and then moved to Antwerp University for my MSc. During my MSc, I had the opportunity to conduct my master’s thesis at the University of Pietermaritzburg in in South Africa. After my MSc, I was enrolled at KU Leuven for a PhD in Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences.
