Install commission and troubleshoot Gas Turbines (Jet Engines). Working on the control systems which are Plc controlled. I also work on the mechanical side of the unit also. The engines drive Generators, Compressors and Pumps at various locations worldwide.
The varied work, i.e. working on control systems, mechanical issues with the driven equipment, and not knowing what the problems are when I arrive at a site and of course the satisfaction when the unit is back on line.
Work on control system
Get a STEM qualification on controls and instrumentation, Serve an Apprenticeship with one of the OEM, Rolls Royce, Siemens, GE etc. or a local engineering company.
